The Satco mounting plate for stud/joist mounting is a structural rough-in accessory engineered for new construction installations of the Satco Performer Series commercial LED downlights. Available in 4″, 6″, and 8″ configurations, it bridges ceiling joists to provide a level, secure mounting surface for the downlight head and remote driver before drywall is applied.
Getting the rough-in right is what separates a clean final installation from one that requires callbacks. This mounting plate locks the fixture position in place during framing, so the downlight sits perfectly flush and plumb once the ceiling is finished — no shimming, no adjusting after drywall. At 26″ in length, it spans standard joist spacing and installs quickly during the rough-in phase, keeping the project on schedule.
